1. Why should I invest in timeshare real estate?
You shouldn't, if to you "invest" only means, "money returned for money spent." Timeshare real estate is NOT about investing... at least not for financial gain. Historically, timeshares do not appreciate in value like other types of property, but frankly, neither does the car you drive and that doesn't stop millions of people from purchasing, using, and enjoying new or resale automobiles.

4. How difficult will it be to exchange my timeshare week for vacations at other resorts and will I have to pay additional fees?

In many cases you will need to pay an exchange fee and in other cases you will need to pay for membership in an exchange club. More than anything else, how far in advance you plan and how flexible you are about your travel options will determine your ease to exchange your unit and week for time at other resorts or in other seasons. Your timeshare broker will help you understand your choices and possible restrictions before you make a decision on which timeshare property to buy.
